Snow Canyon Volume #2 of 3

Here are your second set of images of Snow Canyon (and a photo of the perpetrator).

These are called Indian Ponds by some outdoors people.

This is my favorite shot of an Indian pond.

Evidence of the sun on a stormy day in the canyon.

Here are your ggfolks way up on top in the Canyon.

A curious and possibly hungry jay as we lunched.

A cache along the riverbed.

The river bed in the off season.

GGpa tracks in the Canyon sand dunes area.

Grisly tree on top of the petrified dunes.

Don't hike here during the monsoons in July.

GRAFTON GHOST TOWN

Finding Grafton: In Rockville, UT, ask where the turnoff is (there is also a sign just off the road which says Grafton. Then cross the bridge in the picture below, and follow the signs the rest of the way. The movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed here and in many places in and around Southern Utah, including Snow Canyon and Zion National Park.

The road to Grafton, mostly dirt, but in good condition.

View of the first building after entering the gate to the town.

Log cabins still in good condition after 150 odd years.

Typical homestead.

The front gate.

Custom inlaid ceilings. (Actually laths for plastering)

Fireplace bricks showing after the plaster comes off.

Shed on the back lot.

Prospective tenant for the shed.

Tongue in groove construction. Said with tongue in cheek.

Pasture behind the shed.

The family fireplace.

Grafton School/Church in reflection. One of Frank's favorite photos.

City Cemetery. There are tombstones here dating in the 1800s.

Typical grave marker, hand engraved. See if you can read it.

Unique gate with figures depicting petroglyphs. You gotta go see this place!

Lane's 46th Birthday in Ivins

We celebrated Lane's 46th on Conference weekend, April 3-4.
We never acknowledged that Vay has her BD on April 14.

After 40 days of dieting and starving.
After 4 months in the hospital (Dad in bed, Mom watching over and helping the staff)

On St. George city pond (baseballers would refer to it as "ducks on the pond".

Annual Art Festival on St. George city square.

Mom and Dad up close and personal.

Lane treated us to paninis at "25 Main".

Oops, forgot, all Mom wanted was a pina colada smoothie.

A panini up close.

We actually spent most of our weekend playing "Jokers".
