GRAFTON GHOST TOWN

Finding Grafton: In Rockville, UT, ask where the turnoff is (there is also a sign just off the road which says Grafton. Then cross the bridge in the picture below, and follow the signs the rest of the way. The movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was filmed here and in many places in and around Southern Utah, including Snow Canyon and Zion National Park.

The road to Grafton, mostly dirt, but in good condition.

View of the first building after entering the gate to the town.

Log cabins still in good condition after 150 odd years.

Typical homestead.

The front gate.

Custom inlaid ceilings. (Actually laths for plastering)

Fireplace bricks showing after the plaster comes off.

Shed on the back lot.

Prospective tenant for the shed.

Tongue in groove construction. Said with tongue in cheek.

Pasture behind the shed.

The family fireplace.

Grafton School/Church in reflection. One of Frank's favorite photos.

City Cemetery. There are tombstones here dating in the 1800s.

Typical grave marker, hand engraved. See if you can read it.

Unique gate with figures depicting petroglyphs. You gotta go see this place!

  1. Cool ceiling and fireplace pictures! You knew I'd like those. We love the picture with the reflection. Lane said it looks surreal. Great post
